I had no idea what I was doing when I started Deep Roots At Home and can’t believe that it is now the 1-Year Anniversary! It is quite surprising to me that there are now readers from all over the world
I want to give a sincere ‘Thank You’ to all who come faithfully to read and to those who have encouraged me to blog. I hope it is as much a blessing to you as it is to me.
I must do something ‘garden-y’ to celebrate, so I have 2 very colorful and helpful books on Herbs to giveaway to 2 readers.
******************
1.) The Illustrated Herbal {The complete guide to growing and using herbs} is an English guide [160 pg.] done in London, Suffolk, and Norfolk, but will be of much use in the US as well.
This reference includes how to make steams for inhalation, ointments, poultices, compresses, tinctures, infusions, and more. It tells how to harvest, dry, and store herbs, besides how to plant, propagate, and maintain an herb garden in ground or in containers.
****************
2.) Little Herbal Gardens {Simple secrets for glorious gardens ~indoors and out} is a beautiful smaller reference book [96 pages] and will be appreciated by the novice and the more experienced gardener alike.
This reference includes herbs for porch, windowsill, or kitchen; for potting or in the ground; herbs for fragrance and oil infusions, as well as, how to grow these medicinal wonders.

Wow, congratulation!!! Happy 1 year annivesary! I am new to blogging myself so I know it is a big milestone for you. I would love to win one of your herb books as one of my wishes is to start a herb garden but alas, I don’t have even one book about growing herbs.
I am subscribed to your feedburner also. Love your blog!
I have “liked” you on Facebook! Great give-away!
Ooh….I could certainly use these! I am having to start all over with my gardens and need all the encouragement I can get.
We lost our hand built home to foreclosure 9 days before Christmas….starting over from a rented mobile home on 1 acre of nothing. I am able to put in a garden with the landlord’s blessing…just hard to even know where to start….
Dear Cindy, Oh, my heart aches for you, dear one. I can and will pray for you today and then as the Lord brings you to mind. Remember Corrie ten Boom’s quote: “There is no pit so deep, but Jesus’ love is deeper still.” Rest in His care and love your husband, dear one. It maybe hurts him even more than you as a man who feels he should provide…I hope that isn’t too presumptuous to say
“Liked” you on FB!
Feedburner on it’s way!
