(William-Adolphe Bouguereau, (1825-1905)-Maternal Admiration,1869)
“Oh that God would give every mother a vision of the glory and splendor of the work that is given to her when a babe is place in her bosom to be nursed and trained! Could she have but one glimpse in to the future of that life as it reaches on into eternity; could she look into its soul to see its possibilities; could she be made to understand her own personal responsibility for the training of this child, for the development of its life, and for its destiny,–she would see that in all God’s world there is no other work so noble and so worthy of her best powers, and she would commit to no others hands the sacred and holy trust given to her.”

What a beautiful quote! I don’t think I’ve ever heard it. Wonderful portrait to go with it too. Happy Mother’s Day Jacqueline. Be blessed.

Wow! This is so beautiful. The picture captures the title perfectly. I wish more women would adhere to this way of thinking. It just boggles my mind the way people put off having children. I have some friends that compared having children to having pets! They might have been joking, but I think it is a common comparison. Thank you for sharing this wonderful image and quote.
Thank you for your kind words, Tulip. Motherhood is a noble job, and after having to wait 19 years, I found my calling (after being a wife, of course). Thank you for stopping by
Amen! Thank you for inspiring me this morning.
I love the picture and the quote! God blessed me with two wonderful children, when I dedicated them to God I promised to take them to church and to teach them about God. When they were younger I always took them to church I never sent them with other people because I believe that as a parent it is our duty to take them to church and to be there with them. Praise God it was worth it because both of them are active in church and they put God first in their lives. Being a Mother is the greatest blessing of all! I am so thankful that you have a desire to encourage others. May God Richly Bless You and Your Family.
